The unavailability of power in rural areas as well as semi-urban areas has led to the creation of a hand pump, which is ideal for manually drawing water from wells. This was brought by safety concerns raised as well as the many accidents caused through manually drawing of water.
Specifically designed by the Swiss Centre for Development Cooperation in Technology and Management, the Afridev hand pumps are designed to meet the village level maintenance and operation as specified by the World Bank. Having undergone extensive field development and laboratory tests, the pump fulfills all required features as per the UNDP.
With an output of upto 1300L/ hr at a pumping head of 45m, the pump is constructed galvanized steel for long life as well as corrosion resistance. It also has a heavy-duty deign which is suitable for continuous operation over long periods of time. The simplicity to install, operate and maintain at the village level, as well as its ease of maintenance and readily available spare parts makes it the most ideal hand pump.
The Dayliff Afridev is ISO certified as a product that is manufactured under the highest quality levels, tried, tested for water pumping applications.
